Asbestos Awareness
For Electrical, Electricity Supply & Telecommunications Industries
The purpose of this awareness course is to inform employers and employees within the Electrotechnology Industry the procedures that have been documented to comply with the Electrical, Electricity Supply and Telecommunications Industries legislative and operational requirements for the inspection of metering/ electrical panels at commercial and domestic premises to determine the presence of asbestos containing materials.
Course Content:
On successful completion of this training session, participants will be able to:
Identify potential asbestos containing materials prior to the meter/ electrical panel;
Be aware of the correct procedures for the handling of asbestos materials followed to minimize the release of asbestos fibres and the possible exposure of personnel and the general public;
Identify inspect maintain and use
safety equipment as detailed under the NSW Occupational Health and Safety Regulation 2001 made
under the NSW Occupational
Health and Safety Act 2000.
