Pit & Pipe
This course is designed to provide the necessary skills to carry out Pit & Pipe within the External Plant Network. Sessions include plan reading, pit types, installation techniques and safety.
Course Content:
On successful completion of this training session, participants will be able to:
Prepare Site for installation: - includes checking plans, obtaining appropriate approval from relevant authorities.
Site cleared in accordance with relevant standards, codes and legislation and all tools, equipment and clothing are used safely in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.
Excavation is made safe through erection of necessary barriers.
Pit & pipe or conduit is selected and constructed/installed to specification and manufacturer's requirements.
Pipe and conduit internal surfaces are free from impediments and pipe entry into enclosure is sealed against ingress from foreign matter.
Restore site and complete documentation.
