An apprenticeship traditionally lasts between three and four years and provides a combination of employment and structured training. During this time an apprentice has the opportunity to achieve relevant industry skills and nationally recognised qualifications.

The New South Wales government has deregulated the Electrotechnology Trades Course within NSW for:

Apprenticeships

Electrotechnology

Telecommunications

IT & Computers

Project Management

Conflict Resolution

OH&S Induction

Asbestos Awareness

Pit & Pipe

GreenStar Energy Training

Employers and employees can now select from a number of registered training providers (RTO’s) who can deliver training.

160 Apprentices per week are currently attending the trade course training that is conducted at the Electrotech Skills Centre.

As well as the trade training at the centre a further 40 line workers are in training at sites in Northern and Southern NSW.

The Centre also conducts post trade training for those wishing to upskill and advance their worth.
